Abstract Compression of real gases to higher pressure is needed for some high pressure reactions in chemical industry. In compressing processes, work and technical work formulations must be derivates for isotherm, isentropic and isobar state changes. In this study, work and technical work formulations of real gases derivate for isotherm, isentropic and isobar compressing processes, using Van der Waals equations and First Law of Thermodynamics. It is known that, gases of which mole masses are high, differs from ideal state at high pressure and show distinct real gas properties. Keywords: Van der Waals gases, work formulas, stage changes
