Abstract Then the top surfaces of the piston and valves of a four cylinder diesel engine were coated with plasma spray coating method by using 100 μm of NiCrAl as lining layer and over this layer the same surfaces were coated with 400 μm of the mixture that consists of %88 ZrO2, %4 MgO and %8 Al2O3. In the engine the effects of coating process on the combustion parameters have been investigated. The cottonseed oil origin waste cooking oil has been selected in order to produce biodiesel for experimental studies. Then the blends of B20 and B50 were prepared. The blend fuels and D2 were then used in engine tests. The combustion parameters were observed at 1800 rpm engine speed and partial load [50%]. The results have now been presented in this study.
