Abstract Nowadays, in parallel with the advancement of technology, electricity consumption has increased considerably. Electricity is an expensive type of energy. This condition has steered us to the idea that in the systems in which electric energy turns into thermal energy, saving can be carried out by storing waste thermal energy. In this study, firstly energy storage methods have been mentioned and then an application carried out on a hair dryer one of the electrical instruments used at home and its efficiency have been examined. For this purpose the hot air ejected during the operation of a hair dryer and a system in which energy can be stored have been designed. In this interior system, as a latent heat storage material, PCM (phase change material) has been used. Moreover, in orderto check the system temperature an electronic control circuit has been prepared. The experimental results obtained have been shown at graphics and also a calculation of energy saving has been added.
