Abstract In this study, fatigues properties of spheroidal graphite cast iron boronized, austempered and boro-tempered were investigated. The comparison of fatigue strength at one limit of the form of spheroidal graphite cast iron castings has been identified. The commercial samples imbedded in Ekabor-2 powder were borided at 900 ° C for 2 hours and then air cooled from the furnace. The samples were boro-tempered in Ekabor-2 powder at 900 ° C for 2 hours followed by tempering at 250 and 350 ° C salt bath for 1 hour. Austempering, imbedded in their own chips samples, was carried out at 900 ° C for 2 hours and then tempering was performed at 250 and 350 ° C (again salt bath) 1 hour. The fatigue strength of the samples was determined using rotation-bending fatigue stress device. Fracture surfaces of the broken specimens were examined by scanning electron microscope after the test, and fractures types were obtained. Boriding and boro-tempering processes increased the fatigue resistance and fatigue strength of austempering process has led to the decline. The austempering process has been the major contributors to fatigue resistance.
