Abstract In this study, biodiesel production from neutralized waste cooking oils is performed by using alkali catalysed (NaOH) single-phase reaction. Diesel and diesel-biodiesel fuel blend (B10) have been tested in a single cylinder, four stroke, direct injection diesel engine at maximum engine torque speed (2200 rpm) and different engine load including 3.75, 7.5, 11.25, 15 and 18.75 Nm. The variations of in-cylinder pressure, heat release rate, ignition delay period, combustion duration, and CO, HC, NOx and soot emissions were investigated. According to test results, higher in-cylinder pressure was obtained with B10 compared to other test fuel. There is no big difference between in-cylinder pressures obtained with B10 and diesel. In-cylinder pressure increased with the increase engine load. CO and soot emissions decreased by about 28.21 % and 11.77% B10 according to diesel at full load. But NOx emissions increased by about 14.43 % with B10 compared to diesel at full load. Keywords : Biodiesel, Neutralized waste cooking oils, Transesterification, Engine Performance
