Abstract In Engineering applications particularly at the manufacturing,installation,and usage stages,unexpected results can appear due to the external impact. In order to prevent this,it is required to predict the behaviour of the materials under such effects.For this reason, impact tests are used to measure the dynamic deformations and damage modes of the materials.Impact tests are usually composed of similar events in daily life such as driving nails, hammering, car crashes. In the study supported as the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey –career Project(105M195),test mechanism was designed and manufactured using CATIA V5 program, Part design,Assembly design and Drafting modes.In this study,working principle of newly designed and manufactured low velocity impact test mechanism is introduced.
