Abstract The importance given to the occupational health and safety has increased with industrialization in the world and our country, in this case a different standard has been developed to protect continuously improving and to provide occupational health and safety in the organizations; (OHSAS 18001 – TS 18001) Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The most important stage of this management system is to determine the risks. There are several methods of risk analysis. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a method that is to ascertain the errors and dangers in the system without causing any accidents and to make them better by starting from the top priority of them. Also, this method can detect the accidents formerly different from the other risk analysis methods. In this study, risk management which was made in an automotive factory in Bursa, with the FMEA method which was used in the workshop safety area firstly. With the example application the risks which can cause workshop accidents and occupational illness have been evaluated and some recommendations have been made to prevent these risks.
