Abstract In this study, the performance of ceramic tools in the machining of nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys with different operations was assessed through examination of the studies in the literature. The aim of the study, to evaluate the machinability of these materials, finding usage areas with increasing rates, with ceramic tools, and to assess the type of wear that occur as a result of wear mechanisms. Evaluations and conclusions reached in this area will contribute to the scientific study and at the same time, is expected to assist in the selection of the right cutting tools, machining operations and cutting parameters. This study also complements previous work relevant to evaluating the performance of carbide cutting tools in the machining same superalloys.
