Abstract In this study, AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel couples of 10 mm thick were welded by using the synergic controlled pulsed (GMAW-P) and manual Gas Metal Arc (GMAW) welding techniques. In these techniques, constant wire feed speed and voltage (3.2 m/min., 22.5 V) were used. The interface appearance of the welded samples was examined by optical microscopy. In order to determine mechanical properties of samples, microhardness tests and notch charpy test were conducted. At the end of these tests, the best result was obtained from the synergic controlled pulsed (GMAW-P) technique. Keywords: AISI 430, GMAW-P, GMAW, Heat input, Microstructure.
