Abstract In this study, tea consumption situation and habits of consumers in the Of district of Trabzon Province were investigated. 220 families were the study materials living in the district and data were obtained through a survey with the families in December-2011. The relationship between tea consumption and consumers' incomes was tested statistically by chi-square analysis. The survey revealed that all he families living in the district consume tea. The amount of monthly consumption of tea is 2.33 kg/family. Black tea form is consumed brewing at every season. The pleasure and the habit were the most important factors of tea consumption, and quality was found to be the most important factor in purchasing. Families usually purchase tea with paper (packaged) and tea prices in the market are generally considered to be normal.
