Abstract When body temperature increases due to various reasons such as high air temperatures, high level of physical activities, strong emotions, etc., body perspirates to reduce the body temperature. The evaporation of perspiration from the skin forms moisture vapor in the region between the clothing and the skin. To make the wearer feel comfortable, the clothing worn should allow this perspiration in vapor form to be transmitted to the ambient air. The ability of clothing to transmit perspiration in its vapor form is water vapor permeability which is one of the important parameters providing comfort to clothing. In this study, based on the literature review, the general information about the water vapor permeability of fabrics is given.
